Take a Walk on the Wild Side
At Cook’s Bison Ranch , visitors will be amazed at number of buffalo they will see and how close they can get to them! On the guided wagon tour viewers will learn about these historic creatures. Afterwards, feast on bison burgers in the dining room and at the gift shop purchase bison meat, jerky and hides.
Busy as a Bee
Perry Bontrager Jr. and his family are busy as bees when making their honey at “B” Honey in the LaGrange region. This family-owned business specializes in pure honey and flavored cream honey in a variety of flavors, including blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and pecan. The family also sells candles made out of beeswax and soy to light up any night.
Knock on Wood
Not only can you observe the work of a craftsman at Shipshewana’s B&L Woodcrafts , but you can actually become a craftsman for a day. Visitors can design their own bird feeders or houses and pick out parts to allow actual crafters to make a one-of-a-kind arrangement. Afterwards, view local craftsmen’s creations ranging from hand-crafted lawn and patio furniture, dining room tables and chairs. Venture into the large timber frame barn to view to shop even more antiques and crafts courtesy of local Indiana artisans.
