About this trip idea

Allow 1-2 days.

Wabash , situated just an hour southwest of Fort Wayne, promises great entertainment, dining and relaxation on this lovely weekend getaway.

Take in a show
Find out why more than 200,000 visitors attend events at the beautiful, block-long Honeywell Center in the quaint historic district. Originally built as a community center in 1949 by the benevolent Honeywell family, the center expanded to accommodate bigger national acts. Now this 1,500-seat theater offers a variety of evening entertainment year-round including concerts, plays and ballets. Go early to enjoy the ever-changing art exhibit in the Clark Art Gallery.

Relive 1920s grandeur with modern amenities
Marvel at the décor at the boutique hotel, Charley Creek Inn , in the historic downtown district. Recently reopened in 2010, the 1920-vintage inn has been restored to its original warmth and elegance. Stay in one of 30 individually appointed rooms or suites. Linger over delicious regional cuisine in the inn’s casual upscale restaurant, Twenty, and request your favorite tunes in the inn’s piano bar, The Green Hat Lounge. Check out Cloud Club on the new fifth floor – a glassed-in rooftop pavilion and green roof.

Connect on quiet walks
On your way to nearby Charley Creek Gardens   stop for breakfast at Wabash Donut Shoppe for their handmade donut creations covered in their signature sweet yellow glaze. Then, take a guided tour through the sprawling six-acre garden which features a labyrinth, hedge maze and waterfall among the seasonal blooms. Pack a picnic lunch to lounge on the grounds longer. At Paradise Spring Riverwalk , also a local outdoor favorite, stroll the 3/4 mile loop near the Wabash River.
