About this trip idea

Celebrate over 450 years of Shakespeare when you enjoy readings, lectures, performances and special events celebrating the playwright's legacy right here in Indiana. Visit the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival  in South Bend, now celebrating its 16th anniversary, between July and October to see three plays and learn more about the man behind them with pre-show talks and special lectures.

For dining options, South Bend is practically bursting with new restaurants in the last couple of years. Try Café Navarre for a particularly exquisite meal and a fun Shakespearean connection. Stay at the remodeled Morris Inn  at Notre Dame, which was awarded the coveted 4-diamond prize by AAA in 2013.

Or, venture into Richmond, Indiana and visit the Richmond Shakespeare Festival featuring two Shakespeare productions all summer long including special events full of ice cream, wine and more!

Next, sample the Central Region's contribution to performances and readings celebrating Shakespeare  in the capital city at Indiana Repertory Theatre. Fall in love again as you watch their production of Romeo and Juliet on stage from January 27th- March 3rd.
