White Violet Center for Eco-Justice
Visit White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of the Woods, and learn about sustainable agriculture as well as the history of this amazing place tucked away in west central Indiana.
Take a leisurely, self-guided tour of our certified organic gardens, orchards, greenhouse, high tunnel, alpacas and chickens. There’s also a nature trail walk. If you’d like a more in depth look at our farm we offer guided group tours with one of our knowledgeable team members. Tours are free but we do ask for donations. Make sure to stop by our Farm Store where you can purchase seasonal produce, alpaca fiber items, and products from local vendors.
Teaching, caring, inspiring for all creation, White Violet Center for Eco-Justice supports programs of ecological justice education, organic agriculture and fiber education.Since settling here in 1840, the sisters have been growing food and cultivating the land. Many of the buildings here are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
All are welcome. Guided tours can be scheduled Mon-Fri from 9-4. Call 812-535-2932 for availability. Self-guided tours are seven days a week during daylight hours. The Farm Store is open Mon-Fri 11-6 and Sat-Sun 10-3.
