Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra
The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra's 2019 season celebrates 30 years with Maestro Alfred Savia. A succession of concerts will feature composers, guest artists, and traditions that have developed between the Orchestra and the Maestro.
The January Classics sees the return of Robert Moody, previous Assistant Conductor with the EPO, to lead the Orchestra and Chorus in John Rutter's "Requiem," February Classics brings Brahms' First Concerto and Stravinsky's Firebird! Music of the Spheres in March commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing with the Youth Orchestra joining the EPO on stage for Holst's "The Planets." Our classic season ends gloriously with Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony!"
February Pops brings Nashville-based country recording artists Rachel Potter and Patrick Thomas with Country Legends. A tribute to country music, including songs from singers and songwriters like Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Carrie Underwood. PBS personality Richard Glazier shares songs, stories and funny anecdotes in a tribute to Garland to Gershwin. The Pops finale is Indiana Music Legends which will showcase the music by Hoosier pop icons from Cole Porter & Hoagy Carmichael to John Mellencamp & superstar Michael Jackson.
