James Dean Gallery
James Byron Dean (Feb 8, 1931-Sept 30, 1955) is remembered as a cultural icon of teenage disillusionment and social estrngement. He starred in only three films, Rebel Without A Cause, East of Eden, and Giant, but his legacy was assured when he was killed in a car crash at the young age of 24. He became the first actor to recieve posthumous Academy Award nominations for Best Actor, and remains the only actor to claim that distinction. The James Dean Gallery houses an extensive exhibit of James Dean memorabilia and items including childhood photos, high school yearbooks, and original movie posters from around the world.
