The Buskirk-Chumley Theater is a performing arts center housed in a restored 1920s silent movie theater, located a few blocks from Indiana University and half a block from Bloomington’s downtown square.
At any point in the year, our performance calendar may include film, music, comedy, theatre, dance, and much more. Plenty of free events appear on our schedule, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a wide variety of speakers and performances.
Visit our website for the current performance schedule. We are always adding new events to the schedule so it pays to check back on a regular basis.
For those interested in the history of our Mission Revival-style theater, we have an exhibit about the life of the Indiana Theatre (the building’s original moniker) and the development and decline of downtown movie theaters in this country. Visitors are welcome to check out the exhibit during box office hours, when no events are happening.
Our box office also doubles as the Downtown Visitor Center so please stop by for maps, brochures, restaurant recommendations, and locally-made gifts.
