Bringing you the Best of Broadway's Golden Age of Musical Theatre, The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres is created from a 1911 round barn that was dismantled and resurrected at the historic farmstead to become a professional repertory theater company.
Over one hundred and fifty Broadway musicals have been produced over the last two decades. The professional acting company is assembled from auditions across the country and is housed on the farm. The Round Barn Theatre is a full performing arts venue with its own scene shop and rehearsal space. It employs a full time technical staff including artistic director, stage manager, sound and wardrobe designers.
An Amish Acres tradition, Plain and Fancy, fills the proscenium Joseph Stein Stage each April through October. This gentle but spirited musical comedy brought the first national attention to the quaint customs, stern morals and picturesque dress of the Amish. Over 3,000 shows have been performed, and over 300,000 patrons have marveled at Amish Acres nationally recruited cast, English Strand theatre lighting, full-scale, authentic sets and costumes over the last decade.
