Crown Hill Cemetery, an icon of Indianapolis history, is the most prominent cemetery in Indianapolis. Founded in 1863, it reflects the rich heritage of the area and is the final resting place for well-known persons including James Whitcomb Riley. Public tours are given June through October, with the Saturday evening tour providing a beautiful sunset view from Marion County's highest hill.
