Built in 1860, these walls went up the year Abraham Lincoln was elected President. We are possibly the oldest working General Store in Indiana. We carry a wide variety of goods with something for everyone. We specialize in retro Root Beers,& Sodas, we also carry nostalgic candies & locally made syrups, jams, & honey. We carry bait, Case Knives, vintage model kits, & much more. We are located a stone's throw from Cataract Falls S.R.A., "The Niagara of Indiana". It's also home to Owen County's only surviving covered bridge, built in 1876, and across the street from the Cataract one room Schoolhouse, built in 1886. We are convenient to I-70, only a few miles off of SR 231. We are also near the Owen-Putnam State Forest & Horseman's Campground. We have the Weekend Grill offering hamburgers, hot dogs, bratburgers & other sandwiches open seasonally, with a nice picnic area on the store property. In the summer we host open Music Nights in our picnic area. There are several private campgrounds & cabins in the area as well as being near Leiber & McCormack's Creek State Parks.
