World War II Buzz Bomb, Greencastle Square

About World War II Buzz Bomb, Greencastle Square

The only memorial of its kind in the nation, this German-built un-manned "flying bomb" was unleashed by Adolf Hitler during WWII, in part to confuse allied spies. Today it serves as a memorial to local soldiers who lost their lives during the war. The only other "buzz bomb" specimen is housed at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.
