From the Old Days to Today
It’s the 1800s at Conner Prairie, and families love the many ways to explore this interactive history park. There’s the 1836 Prairietown, where you can visit with residents and attend a one-room schoolhouse. Soar high above the area on the 1859 Balloon Voyage, a tethered, helium-filled balloon that gives you a view all the way to downtown Indianapolis on a clear day. You can also check out the farm animals, play on the four-story Treetop Outpost or even take your part in the 1863 Civil War Journey. In downtown Carmel, check out seven rooms of dollhouses and vignettes at the Museum of Miniature Houses and browse Carmel City Center for shopping, dining and special events.
