Kimmell House Inn

About Kimmell House Inn

Step back to 1876 and experience a quiet uncomplicated lifestyle in the country. Relax and stroll in the woods, enjoy the 140 year old sugar maple stand planted to supply the family's sugar needs. Walk through the gardens and imagine living on this self-sufficient farm with barns, ice house, gazebo, and carriage house. Built on a wooded hillside, this brick Italianate home, now known as the Kimmell House Inn was once the centerpiece of the 1000 acre farm-stead. It was home to Indiana State Representative Orlando Kimmell, his wife, Jane and their children. A beautiful walnut staircase in the front foyer leads to the second floor where three of the guest rooms are located. If privacy is what your looking for, enjoy a relaxing get-away in our secluded cottage. Nestled under walnut trees and surrounded by gardens is The Old Summer Kitchen, a peaceful three room retreat. All modern ammeneties are available including wifi, jacuzzi tubs, DirectTV etc. A full service restaurant, gift shop, and specialty coffee bar occupies the main floor of the house for your enjoyment. Dean, his wife Deb, and daughter-in-law Elise Stoops invite you to come and enjoy our special brand of "hoosier hospitality" as you visit Indiana!
