River Kitty Cat Cafe
Coffee. Confections. Cats.
What more could your want?
Established in 2017, the River Kitty Cat Cafe is a must stop in Evansville's thriving Downtown district. Former owners, Annette Gries & Nancy Drake, have created the purrr-fect atmosphere for you to have a warm cup of coffee or a yummy smoothie. Our locally made macarons are a favorite among our guests. You can even relax wiht a glass of wine or one of our many beers.
The icing on the cake is not our goodies, it is our company. For a small fee you can book a 30 or 60 minute session in the cat lounge. Relax, pet or play with up to 17 cats in the lounge at once. Since we opened, the Vanderburgh Humane Society has been our adoption partners, providing River Kitty with wonderful felines. In just over 2 1/2 years more than 400 cats have been adopted through the cafe. Even if you aren't looking to add to your home, the cuddles make your visit worth it.
The River Kitty Cat Cafe is now a non-profit organization. In late 2019, the Vanderburgh Humane Society purchased the business from Nancy & Annetter (who now volunteer). So now when you book a cat visit or buy a latte, all of the proceeds (from anything we sell) will help homeless animals in our community.
