State Park Smiles in Limestone Country
A Southern Indiana adventure 90 minutes S of Indianapolis
Fall adventures at Indiana’s favorite state park bring a smile to everyone! Spring Mill State Park is located in Limestone Country, where the terrain is rugged, caves are cool and rolling hills flaunt vibrant fall color.
Its namesake is a real working grist mill. You can see the huge waterwheel turn kernels into cornmeal. This year marks its 200th anniversary. Meet costumed villagers and experience what life was like in the 1800s at the Pioneer Village.
In Spring Mill State Park, you can time-travel to another era - NASA’s space program heyday. Grissom Memorial is full of interactive exhibits, a real spacesuit and space capsule piloted by local astronaut hero, Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom.
And, this park has all of the outdoor recreation activities that you love about Indiana state parks. Hiking trails, campground, playground and nature center are perfect for adventurers.
Wildlife watching and hayrides are popular activities in the fall! Stay the night inside the park at Spring Mill Inn, a cozy hotel built from limestone. Don’t forget to try some persimmon pudding at the restaurant.
Visit the Visitors Center, just 3-1/2 miles from Spring Mill State Park. Plan your adventure at Limestone Country and catch all the smiles on camera!
