Fall Festival Fun with a Hancock County Harvest
Gather the Family, Store up the Fun, and Reap the Good Times
Harvest time and Hancock County go hand in hand with it's fall festivities, and agritourism options. As the home of the Hoosier Poet, James Whitcomb Riley, Greenfield celebrates this Indiana icon with one of the largest festivals in the state. The Riley Festival is a four day October celebration of live entertainment, activities, and over 450 vendor booths. This year Hancock County Tourism hosts a "Thrills and Chills" entertainment extravaganza at the "Riley Showcase." The headliners will be the Nashville musician, Gary West, on Friday, and Saturday will feature everyone's favorite ghoul - "Sammy Terry."
Partake in a Hancock County harvest at Tuttle's Orchard. It is the best place to get U-pick apples, and other homegrown produce. This functioning farm shines in the fall as it hosts tractor town, a corn maze, 20 acres of pumpkins, and the café has some of the yummiest apple cider slushies.
Lark Ranch is another fall fun destination. This location boasts activities and rides with a farming twist. The giant haystack, corn box, pedal go-karts, and the slide mountain – are all designed to engage active youngsters. However, the highlight is the Lark train, which takes families around the large pumpkin patch.
