About Abe Lincoln Entertains at Lake Wawasee

Chautauqua Wawasee has invited Abe Lincoln re-enactor, Danny Russel, to perform at Oakwood Resort on June 27. Danny’s show will feature all kinds of jokes and anecdotes, which Lincoln was famous for. Danny Russel has shared his portrayals with students (elementary through high school), theatres, libraries, museums, fairs and festivals, and at other venues. Mr. Russel brings Lincoln’s wonderful humor, honesty, love of learning, mastery of language and empathy for his fellow man to life. His uncanny likeness of Honest Abe in his customary black suit and stovepipe hat will provide a fascinating panoply of uproarious comedy, gentle reminiscence, political intrigue and insightful commentary on the human condition that will entertain young and old. The public is invited to attend this free one-hour patriotic event starting at 4:30 p.m. on the lawn at the Oakwood Resort Inn. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Danny’s performance will be from 4:30 to 5:30, after which Fort Wayne Philharmonic musicians start to warm-up for their annual 7:30 patriotic Pops Concert on the lawn.
