About Columbus Scottish Festival
A weekend of Scottish entertainment, competition, history and much more. Events include Animals, Athletics, Entertainment, Celtic Market, Children’s Area, Clans, Dancing, European Car Show, Food & Drink, Living History, Pipe & Drum, and Evening Ceilidh. What is a Ceilidh (kay-lee)? In years gone by, when people in the Highlands of Scotland wanted entertainment, they would have their neighbors over. Someone might play a musical instrument, a fiddle or an accordion, a mouth organ or penny whistle for example. Someone else might sing and have the others join in. There could also be dancing. At the Columbus Scottish Festival, the Ceilidh begins with a buffet followed by dancing.
