About Vincennes Stage Door Canteen

Vincennes Stage Door Canteen is a historically-inspired USO variety show of the World War II and Korean War eras, but the show can’t go on without you. Diverse volunteer talent from the community is key to this mission. This is in the ninth year the historical society has partnered with USO Indiana. Serving our men and women in uniform, USO Indiana is solely funded by donations and contributions by individuals, businesses, and community organizations. Money generated at the show goes directly to USO Indiana. This year’s show is set for September 9, 2016, at the Green Activity Center located on the Vincennes University Campus. The show starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes to 10:00 p.m. As always we have The Temple Airs Orchestra playing music from that period. New this year we will be raffle off a patriotic painting done by one of our local artists, Rose Doughman. Last year our acts included a Red Skelton impersonator, a plate spinner, and many talented singers. We encourage the community to come out and dress from the eras we are representing.
