About Arbor Day

Come out to the Elkhart Environmental Center (EEC) on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM for the City of Elkhart’s 29th Arbor Day celebration! You can take home a free tree while supplies last! The event will also include a plant exchange at 12:00 PM and the ElkhartWood Showcase, with live demonstrations from local woodworkers and an exhibit of artistry and talent featuring wood products made from reclaimed urban lumber. Get your tree questions answered and learn how to properly plant your tree with NIPSCO Forestry! Learn how trees beautify our city and support a healthy city environment! Elkhart has been recognized as a Tree City USA community for 28 years; one of the oldest Tree City USA communities in Indiana! Admission to the event and trees are free while supplies last. Elkhart’s 29th Arbor Day is sponsored by NIPSCO, AEP Indiana Michigan Power, Woody Warehouse Nursery, Inc., Johnson Hardware, and Eco Owl Press.
