About 30th annual Navy Bean Fall Festival
Now in its 30th year, the Navy Bean Fall Festival began when members of the local merchant's association met to brainstorm about how to foster community and drive business to the town. Hosted by Carolyn Simpson, one of the group raved about her soup and the Navy Bean Fall Festival was born! Along with the soup served Friday night at 5pm and noon on Saturday, the event features top-named entertainers, rides, vendors, seaplane splash-in and a Saturday morning parade. A 5K also takes place early Saturday. Join us as large steam jacketed pots will steadily be cooking up Navy Bean soup along the riverfront at Front Street in Rising Sun. Get it while it's hot (with a soft drink or water and slab of cornbread) and while supplies last! Admission and parking are free. Amusement rides and navy beans/cornbread have a slight charge. Information on entertainment/activities will be added to the Navy Bean website at www.navybeanfestival.org when available.
