80th Anniversary of Sunset Hill Farm County Park

About 80th Anniversary of Sunset Hill Farm County Park

This July marks the 80th Anniversary of Sunset Hill Farm County Park. What began as a local family farm has transformed over the years into one of our County’s top outdoor getaways for individuals to explore and enjoy through 238 acres of trails, fields, forest, farmland, facilities and more. To celebrate all that Sunset Hill Farm has brought to our communities, Porter County Parks & Recreation will host a free festival at the park. The festival will host a museum featuring artifacts and photographs of the park over the years along with a video presentation on how the farm has developed into the County Park it is today. The department will also honor Art Willing and the Willing family as well as Lloyd and Ethel Prosser and the Prosser family for their contributions to the farm and park throughout its history. In addition there will be a variety of activities for families and visitors of all ages including face painting, crafts and games, as well as a historic baseball game starting at noon featuring the Deep River Grinders and the Sunset Hill Colonels.
