The INPAWS North Chapter's October membership meeting and program will be held on Sunday, October 20th at 2:00 PM at the Gene Stratton- Porter State Historic Site's Visitor's Center in Rome City (Noble County), IN. Following a brief membership meeting, our speaker will be Dave Fox, section manager, Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites. Dave will present a program entitled “Gene Stratton-Porter - Her Life and Love of Indiana's Flora." Following the program, INPAWS members and guests will have the option to participate in a guided tour of Gene’s historic 1914 home named “The Cabin in Wildflower Woods,” which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Weather permitting; the autumn afternoon should also be a beautiful time for a leisurely stroll of the property to take in some of the beauty of the wildflower woods and adjacent Sylvan Lake. The standard gate fee of $4.50/person will be in effect and this fee includes the cabin tour which is limited to 20 persons per tour.
