Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb

About Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb

Timed competition runs for more than 300 vehicles over the famed Newport Hill, once a proving grounds for early automotive designs, for antique cars, trucks and motorcycles in 31 classes, plus a car show for nearly 500 street rods and customs; a collector car auction, giant parade Saturday, flea market and swap meet, cruise-in and street dance, huge fireworks show, Lions Club's world-famous pork bar-be-que and lots of other great food, Gospel Music Jamboree, scholarship pageant, pretty baby contest, dog show, Big Wheel Race for kids, and a restored antique car raffled off each year! Even the Chevrolet Brothers perfected their early car designs on the Newport Hill! Another early driver was banned from the Indianapolis 500 for competing in the Newport Hill Climb. Re-live and celebrate Indiana's rich automotive heritage at the course that pre-dates the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Always the weekend with the first Sunday of October.
