Traditional Old Time Copeer Kettle Apple Butter demostration & an 1800's Living Pioneer Farmstead on Saturday, October 5th from 10 am to 4 pm. Apple Butter will be for sale with all proceeds going to the park. The farmstead features a working blacksmith shop, cooper shop, pioneer home, tomahawk throws and pioneer demonstrations of all kinds. There will be a demonstration of the nationally unique 1850 Hay Press, which is run by oxen. The demonstration, done nine days each year, takes place from 1 to 1:30 pm on Saturday. In the event of mechanical difficulty with the 160-year old hay press, a special tour of the press, draft animals and barn is given in its place. The Hay Press demo and living farmstead event is free of charge, the regular park gate entrance fee applies. O’Bannon Woods State Park is located 10 miles west of Corydon, Indiana on Hwy. 462, off State Highway 62.
