A Kokomo Golf Trip isn’t complete without hitting the links at Howard County’s championship Wildcat Creek Golf Course. At nearly 7,000 yards, this 18-hole course provides a fun layout for the beginner to the average golfer but can also prove a challenge for the more experienced player. If you are simply looking to hone your skills, the bent tee driving range paired with two large putting greens and a short game area is the perfect spot.  The course also offers instruction programs for groups and individuals.  At just $38 for 18 holes, Wildcat Creek is an excellent and affordable option.  Green Acres Golf Club, Kokomo Golf Trip

Green Acres Golf Course, the next stop on the Kokomo golf trip, is a par 72, 18-hole course featuring 6,767 yards of golf from the longest tees. Located within a residential community, Green Acres Golf Course is a relaxing spot and the perfect place to meet friends and neighbors. Designed by Robert Simmons, the course opened in 1968 and nowadays features a full-service clubhouse, restaurant, bar, 10-tee driving range, and free Wifi.  Just minutes from downtown Kokomo, you can play in the country and quickly hit the city for food and a beverage after your round.  Rock Hollow Golf Club, Kokomo Golf Trip

Rock Hollow Golf Club

An Indiana Fairway Drive to this region requires a stop at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, just a quick drive up US-31 from Kokomo.  Taking full advantage of its natural surroundings, Rock Hollow Golf Club mixes old-growth forests, cattail wetlands, beautiful boulders, and changes in elevation to produce over 300 acres of dramatic scenery. Boasting four sets of tees, the Rock is perfect for any skill level, outing, or tournament.  The golf course continues to receive awards throughout the 20 plus years of being family-owned and operated.  It is currently ranked one of the top 10 courses in Indiana by Golf Magazine.

Kokomo Speedway, Kokomo Golf Trip

Kokomo Speedway

During your trip, spend some time off the course and at the speedway. The Kokomo Speedway is a thrilling dirt track, where races are held weekly on Sunday nights with sprint cars, street stocks, thunder cars, and more! Opening in 1947, the Kokomo Speedway is a fast, 1/4-mile semi-banked, clay track that race fans just can’t get enough of. The Kokomo Speedway season runs from April to October. Another unique spot in Kokomo is the Kokomo Opalescent Glass Factory. Visitors are welcome to tour America’s oldest art glass company! Feel the heat as you experience art glass that is hand-ladled and rolled from a 2,500-degree furnace and watch skilled artisans as they make hand-blown glass creations in the Hot Glass Studio. The Kokomo Opalescent Glass Factory began producing the highest quality art glass at its original location in 1888. Come and explore the rich heritage and long-standing tradition of Kokomo Opalescent Glass. Public factory tours are offered Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. Group tours must be scheduled by appointment. Grissom Air Museum, Kokomo Golf Trip

Grissom Air Museum

The Grissom Air Museum is the perfect spot for any history buffs that are looking to learn something new during their getaway. The Grissom Air Museum, near Peru, was founded in 1981 by seven prior service military personnel who lived in the area. The Heritage Museum Foundation wanted to preserve aircraft that are currently located at Grissom Air Reserve Base, formerly Grissom Air Force Base. The Museum was named in honor of Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom, Indiana native and the second American astronaut into space.

While you are staying downtown, we highly recommend stopping into Half Moon Restaurant and Brewery, a local Kokomo favorite, for dinner and drinks. Their beer is hand-crafted in a state of the art 3.5 barrel all-grain brewery. Although you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu, the freshly cut steak and fresh-baked brewer rolls are out of this world! Hawg Heaven, Kokomo Golf Trip

Another delicious dining option is Hawg Heaven. This is a tasty ‘down-home’ local establishment that offers pulled pork, baby back ribs, and other hearty BBQ standards.
