This time of year, festive Christmas-themed pop-up bars offer the perfect opportunity to ward off the winter chill and raise a cup — or two — of holiday cheer with friends. Several national efforts are returning to Indiana in 2023, namely Miracle in Fort Wayne and Sippin’ Santa in Indianapolis.

From Nov. 22 through New Year’s Eve, Fort Wayne’s Miracle shindig transforms the Copper Spoon into a magical holiday oasis with an atmosphere of extravagant decorations and twinkling lights. The Miracle cocktail menu details a choice of tasty adult beverages that includes the Christmapolitan, the Krampus, Rudolph’s Replacement, and Marshmallows & Unicorns.

Likewise, the Sippin’ Santa promotion takes over Almost Famous on Mass Ave in Indy between Nov. 17 and Jan. 7, 2024. Against a festive backdrop of lights and decorations, customers can warm up with this year’s new drink offerings like the Surf Nut, Sharkey’s First Christmas and the Ginger Snapper.

At both locations, customers can keep the glow going by purchasing fun-themed holiday mugs to take home. Best of all, 10 percent of all proceeds from the sale of signature Santa Pants, Christmas Carol Barrel and Santa Heads glassware go to benefit the Seva Foundation, a global non-profit eye care organization working with local communities around the world.

Wine and hot cocoa in a glass igloo in Indianapolis

Also in Indianapolis, fun pop-up igloos are returning to the Hyatt Place Hyatt House's Pivot Bar + Balcony this season. The clear geodesic domes offer seating for up to 8 guests each, a cozy vantage point from which to watch the snowflakes drift down while enjoying charcuterie, hot chocolate, bubbly and small plates.

We’ll drink to that — cheers!
