Country Heritage Winery and Vineyard, LaOtto

You may not have heard of the city of LaOtto before, but its winery is a destination in and of itself. Set on a farm, Country Heritage Winery and Vineyard offers two complimentary wine tastings several days of the week, ranging from drys through desserts. It prides itself on using whole fruit, slow fermentation process to bring the best flavors. On the right weekend, you may find live music at Country Heritage Winery!

Oliver Winery, Bloomington

Oliver Winery is consistently ranked as one of the best wineries in the United States to visit. The immaculate gardens and wooded landscape provide a relaxing and romantic retreat perfect for a custom picnic packed by the winery. Oliver's distinguished wine list features options for every palate, from classic vinifera to sweet fruity wines. Individual wine tastings are not currently offered, but catch one of the reserved wine flights here.

Whyte Horse Winery, Monticello

On the outside, Whyte Horse Winery seems like a traditional winery with all of the expected offerings. It is, for the most part, with a variety of dry, semi-dry, sweet, white, and red wines. However, this family-owned winery sets itself apart with unique and eclectic wine slushies depending on the season. In the fall, you may find a Halloween inspired slushie flight guaranteed to spook the unprepared. We don't know what the winter will bring, but we do know you won't want to miss out! Two EE's Winery, Huntington

Nestled on a hillside away from the hustle of everyday life, a welcome escape awaits at Two EE's Winery in Huntington. Just a few short years ago, our readers voted this fairly new business as the Best Winery Experience in Indiana. Word spread fast, and a year later, Two EE's was named America's Best Tasting Room by USA Today 10Best! This rising star fuses city sophistication and countryside charm in its wine and facility. Huber's Orchard & Winery, Borden

Nearly half a million people visit Huber's Orchard, Winery, & Vineyards in Borden each year. Simon Huber immigrated to southern Indiana from Germany in 1843. He bought 80 acres. Today, more than 18 varieties of grapes are grown on the land. The seventh-generation farm spans 650 acres and serves as a working farm, an orchard, a winery, a distillery, and more.

Anderson's Winery and Vineyard, Valparaiso

Yummy fare and delicious wine are awaiting you in Valparaiso. First, Anderson's Winery and Vineyard bakes a wide array of incredible flatbreads that can then be washed down with any of its red or white wines. Wine tastings are available in the newly renovated tasting room for those that don't know what to drink yet. Weekends are especially fun at Anderson's Winery, with concerts taking place in the afternoon each Saturday and Sunday.

Brown County Winery, Nashville

Nashville is known for the rolling hills at Brown County State Park, quaint shops, and an incredible dining scene. Brown County Winery fits into the community perfectly with its award-winning grape and fruit wines. There are two locations; one in the heart of the Village of Nashville and a larger one on State Road 46. The latter allows visitors to view the main production site and also walk through its small estate vineyard.

Mallow Run Winery, Bargersville

Mallow Run Winery can be found just 20 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis. Named after a stream whose waters wind its way through the family farm, this winery is set upon a peaceful backdrop. Take a stroll through the vineyard and be amazed by the varieties of grapes, including American and French-hybrid. Wine tastings at the tasting bar are currently suspended, but complimentary portable tasting flights can be ordered and carried to your table or lawn spot!

Easley Winery, Indianapolis

Easley Winery was named by Yahoo! Travel as one of the Top 10 Urban Wineries! You don't have to catch a flight to get a taste of Jamaica because Easley's best selling Reggae collection brings tropical, floral, and sweet tones together. For the succulent aroma of orange blossom and lemon zest, pour a glass of the Sweet Tulip Moscato. Easley Winery is currently only offering curbside pick-up at this time. French Lick Winery, French Lick

A luxurious experience always awaits in French Lick, and that's no different at French Lick Winery. Large glass windows line one wall and allow for comfortable viewing of the wine production area. If you have a sweet tooth, we recommend trying the Just Peachy wine. French Lick Winery ferments its fruit wines long and slowly at a low temperature with very little fining to preserve the natural flavors. The Tasting Bar, a prominent part of the winery, is now back open!

Lanthier Winery, Madison

If you consider yourself a bit of a wine snob, move on to the next winery on this list, as Lanthier Winery in Madison has a “no wine snobs allowed” policy. The winery embraces “the best wine is the wine you like best” as its mantra. Lanthier has 15 wines to sample and offers free tastings in its Cellar Tasting Room in Madison. The winery is also home to beautiful gardens and the Loft Gallery, which displays great art and is regularly host to VIPs and dignitaries who visit the city.

Tonne Winery, Muncie

As Muncie experiences a craft beer revolution, just north in the village of Royerton, Tonne Winery is experiencing success of its own. For 11 years, Tonne (rhymes with sunny) has produced its variety of wines, including sweet fruits and two Traminettes. While it sources grapes and juice from Michigan, the Pacific Northwest, and upstate New York, Tonne Winery makes a concerted effort to source grapes (particularly Traminette) from Indiana.

Winzerwald Winery, Bristow

To complement the rich German heritage of Southeastern Indiana, Winzerwald Winery features German-inspired wines, like Pinot Meunier and Riesling, as well as five-spiced and herbed wines, like Mai Wein and Gluhwein. You'll love the location, nestled on 85 acres of rolling lands in Hoosier National Forest in Perry County. Don't forget to enjoy delicious food on your visit, as Wein Kitchen Restaurant features authentic Bavarian pretzels, flatbreads, shareable plates, and more.

Butler Winery & Vineyards, Bloomington

Bloomington really is a wine-lovers paradise, as it stakes claim to its second winery on this list. Butler Winery & Vineyards has three locations throughout Indiana, including two in Bloomington and one in Chesterton. Its Vineyard location in Bloomington features an incredible deck overlooking the countryside that has plenty of room for social distancing. Specializing in grape and fruit wines, Butler Winery sources about half of its wine production on-site from its own vineyards!

Satek Winery, Fremont

Satek Winery started as just a commercial vineyard in northeast Indiana but has grown to now have its own tasting room and internationally acclaimed wines! Each guest is allowed up to 8 free tastings. Don't take our word for how good it is; our voters chose Satek Winery as one of the Best Winery Experiences in Indiana.

Monkey Hollow Winery, St. Meinrad

Monkey Hollow Winery offers up a special experience for fall visitors. The country landscape surrounding the winery will take away all worries, especially with autumn colors abound. Wines at Monkey Hollow are all made from estate-grown grapes and include dry, semi-sweet, and sweet. Claim an outdoor seat and enjoy the crisp breeze!

Turtle Run Winery, Corydon

You may ask, "how did Turtle Run Winery get its name?". When the owners purchased the farm in 1997, they noticed an abundance of turtles running all around the property. Thus, the name was born! Thirty wines with complex flavors line the menu at Turtle Run Winery, and concerts are taking place almost every weekend. See the entertainment schedule here.

The Ridge Winery, Vevay

The Ridge Winery prides itself on restoring the wine trade to Vevay. Its location along the Ohio River gives it one of the most scenic views of any winery in the entire state. "Sweet Harvest," a Niagra grape white wine, might be the best of The Ridge's award-winning wines. Sip your favorite wine and watch the gentle river float on by!

Owen Valley Winery, Spencer

Just a few miles down the road from Indiana's first state park, Owen Valley Winey has been hand-crafting its wine for over a decade. The Crimson and Cream wine is a fan favorite! The best day to visit may be "Cheesecake Friday," when the winery whips up a specialty cheesecake that will blow your socks off!

Ertel Cellars Winery, Batesville

Ertel Cellars Winery is not only home to a great winery but also an upscale restaurant with delicious food cooked up by Chef Pat and Chef Howard. Enjoy your wine and meal in the sizeable dining area or amongst the beautiful scenery of the vineyards. Ertel Cellars has maintained its own vineyard for over 20 years, which now produces 7 varieties of grapes.
