About 2 years ago, in the rolling hills of southeast Indiana, a handful of antique shops banded together and to organize the Southeast Indiana Junkin’ Trail. They haven’t stopped since: every year the trail has grown, adding new members.
They now total 16 shops (and growing) and hold 2 yearly events (March & October). This fall’s Junkin’ Trail Extravaganza is October 5, 6, 7 & October 12, 13, 14, 2017, 10am-5pm each day at each shop. You’re going to find great stuff – every member of the trail gets secret shopped (TWICE!) before they are accepted into the group. AND-each shop offers some kind of special – a discount, drawing for gift certificates/gifts, or special purchase.
You’ll find a huge selection of antiques – primitives, furniture, vintage, kitchenware, glassware, clothes, jewelry and more. Some shops offer new items that complement your vintage finds – home decor pieces, florals, candles and more. Everything you expect and surprises, too. Christmas is not far away, just sayin’. So… gather your friends (preferably the ones with big cars or trucks), plan your strategy and get ready for a fun fall weekend in southeast Indiana.
Bring a navigator and make a plan of attack. The trail covers a large area (Lawrenceburg to Vevay to Greensburg to Batesville and in between) so decide where you want to go and how you’re going to get there. Enjoy the scenery!
Shop with people who don’t like the same stuff that you do (no antique rage) and bring an enabler.
