The 2017 Indiana State Fair takes over the state fairgrounds August 4 – 20! This year’s theme is Wonderful World of Food! So what is new at the fair this year? Below are some of the things we’re most looking forward to at the 2017 fair, courtesy of the State Fair website!

Our Global Kitchen 14.-Interactive-Cooking-Table-600x400

This amazing exhibit is organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York and takes visitors on a journey around the world and through time to explore the foods enjoyed by different cultures!

Subaru Skyride

Subaru-Skyride-Image-600x431

Visitors to this year’s Indiana State Fair will get the chance to see the sights from high above the fairgrounds with the addition of the NEW Subaru Skyride. This amusement attraction and is similar to a ski chairlift. Rising approximately 35 feet above the ground over the span of 1,400 feet, the 90-chair aerial lift will travel east and west in a continuous loop between the Swine Barn and the Midway. This ride isn’t free, but we think it will quickly become a favorite at the fair!

World Championship Ice Cream Eating Contest

Major-League-Eating-Logo-600x347

Major League Eating makes its Indiana State Fair return on August 13 with the World Championship Ice Cream Eating Contest. Come see ice cream devoured as quickly as possible and don’t worry about the brain freeze!

Pigs are cute, sure, but did you know they are fast? Cheer on your favorite hog at Hedrick’s Racing Pigs (Metro PCS Family Fun Park | Everyday at 11AM, 1PM, 3PM, 5PM, & 7PM).

Baird’s Exotic Animal Experience

Llama-Bairds_EDIT-600x423

Looking to head to the fair on a budget? The fine folks at the Indiana State Fair have made a list of 250 things you can do for free!
