McCormick’s Creek State Park

My husband grew up going to McCormick’s Creek State Park and had fond memories of his time there. So, when he had a random Friday afternoon off this summer (a rarity in his business) we jumped on the opportunity to go visit … and tent camp.TentLet me just say that I’m not a camper. I didn’t grow up camping. I’m not opposed to it, however it does overwhelm me a bit. But, I made the list, checked it twice and then we packed up.PackedWe spent all Friday afternoon exploring the grounds, but mostly playing in the creek!HikeIMG_6519HikeThe waterfall was a favorite of all!waterfallDinner was a perfect time to teach Maggie how to cook over an open fire …CookingAnd even though it rained on Saturday, it wasn’t hard enough to stop us from hiking and visiting Wolf Cave!HikeWolf CaveOn our way out we stopped by the nature center. FamilyThe beauty of it all … took us less than two hours to get to McCormick’s Creek and we felt like we were miles away.
