In Decatur, Indiana there is a time machine that will take you back to the 1950’s and have you asking for a second helping of fries.
I found it because long drives require breaks every now and then. Recently, on one of my many long drives, I stopped at a little restaurant that I’ve wanted to try since I started my drives up to Northern Indiana over two years ago. I stopped at Arnold’s Drive-In in Decatur, Indiana and I have to admit, I’ll definitely be stopping again.
Arnold’s Drive-In is one of the most fun I’ve had at a retro restaurant. With music from the 1950’s and 1960’s playing through the speakers, you’ll want to get up and dance with whoever you’re with. The waitresses in poodle skirts also add a feeling of fun for the whole family and their friendly service is the cherry on top.
Speaking of cherries on top, the menu options are awesome, especially if you’re looking for a mouth-watering shake or burger. The milkshakes and malts are out of this world and the options are endless. The shake I had was so thick I had wait for it to melt a little to get it through the straw. That shake with a juicy burger and scalding hot fries added up to the best meal I had all week. The entire menu is available on Urbanspoon.
Arnold’s Drive-In is definitely worth a trip. See how far you are from Decatur,Indiana on the city’s where are site. From the car on the roof of the restaurant to the music, the food, and the atmosphere, it’s a true blast from the past that will have you humming some old tunes and feeling full long after you leave. Check out Arnold’s Drive-In on Facebook, Urbanspoon, Yelp, TripAdvisor, or on the Visit Fort Wayne website.
