Horse drawn carraiges, jingling bells, and bright lights may be a picturesque image of the holiday season, but it will become a reality this November in Evansville, IN. The 19th annual Ritzyís Fantasy Lights event will light up the sky this holiday season from Thanksgiving night through January 1st.
I have wonderful memories going to this event when I was in middle school with my family. My dad rented a horse drawn carriage that would pull us through the winter light show. The bitter cold bit our noses as we bundled up under the heavy blanket on the carriage. It is one of my many memories from the holiday season but probably one of my favorites. The simple beauty of lights glistening and my family laughing as the horsesí hooves clip clop along the road truly is a picturesque image of the holidays.
Ritzyís Fantasy Lights event is a charity event for the Easter Seals Disability Service. Every dollar made during this event is given to the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center. The drive through event is $7 for a car up to 6 people. To ride in a carriage it costs just a little more. The event will take place in Garvin Park in Evansville. Not only does this event provide a family fun event for the holiday season, but it is for a good cause as well. What a perfect way to kick off the holiday season; planning a fun family event while donating to a great cause.
College Kidís Money Saving Tip: This affordable event is so worth it since the proceeds benefit a deserving charity.
