  • Broad Ripple Restaurants: Appetites Mandatory

Broad Ripple Restaurants: Appetites Mandatory

Broad Ripple, located on the north side of Indianapolis, offers visitors a little bit of everything—quaint shops, hoppin’ nightlife and fantastic cuisine. And it’s one of my favorite places in Indiana.

Whenever my dad’s in town, we always end up eating in Broad Ripple. The variety of restaurants, laid-back attitude and delicious food make “B. Ripp” the easy choice for us. So next time you’re in Indianapolis, check out one of these Broad Ripple restaurants (my three personal favorites) and see for yourself!

Bright yellow building, can’t miss it!

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, La Piedad, is your best bet! La Piedad is the perfect place to enjoy a margarita and the house favorite, Pollo Loco La Piedad— chicken breast topped with queso, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and flour tortillas — is amazing . If the weather’s nice, sit out on the porch and do some people watching. The Monon Trail is right across the street.

Just down the street from La Piedad and right on the Monon Trail is BRICS (Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station). BRICS is quite possibly my favorite place to eat in Broad Ripple. The ice cream shop is located in the historic Monon Railway Station, which was built over a century ago and was originally known as the Broad Ripple Station. Their ice cream is out of this world, but watch out, the portions are huge! My recommendation for your sweet tooth, order one scoop, but ask them to give you a half scoop of two different flavors. My favorites: Monon Tracks and Yellow Cake Batter.

If you love pizza like I do, you’ll love this next place. Bazbeaux Pizza has several locations around Indianapolis, but lucky for you there’s one in Broad Ripple. The eclectic feel of Bazbeaux really gives it its charm, but the pizza is definitely the best part. Full of flavor and savory goodness, there isn’t a bad pizza on the menu, but to go along with your pizza, try their Spinach Salad with House Vinaigrette. My favorite salad in Indy!
