Snow falling, fireworks booming, people screaming, it must be the New Year! Celebrating the New Year is always an exciting affair. Whether you watch the ball drop on TV or live in New York City’s Time Square, it always revolves around family, friends, and fun. For the past few years I have spent New Year’s Eve with family or at a get together with friends.
This year I discovered a different event in the city that sounds like a lot of fun. Howl at the Moonis a local Indianapolis piano bar where many of the Butler and IUPUI students flock to on the weekends. On a regular weekend night, there are lines out the door with people filled with anticipation to enter. This New Year’s Eve Howl at the Moon is hosting a New Year’s party that sounds like an amazing time.
Ringing in the New Year downtown Indianapolis at this popular bar is the closest I will get to New York City within the next couple years. Considering I am a college senior I do not have the budget to plan a trip to New York City during the holidays. Although, looking at some of the pictures and talking to friends, Howl at the Moon’s event seems to be the place to be this New Year’s Eve. I can only imagine feeling like a true city girl ringing in the New Year downtown Indy with a great group of friends.
While the cost isn’t exactly “budget friendly” in comparison to a whole trip to New York City $35 seems fairly reasonable. Plus, it’s the holidays and I would like to treat myself- so it is definitely worth it. Although, an “Early Bird” package is offered at $30 that can be bought in advance at howlindynye13.eventbrite.com along with a few other package deals.
College Kid’s Money Saving Tip: The Early Bird package includes complimentary champagne at midnight!!
