Fresh seafood from the Gulf Coast found in Evansville, Indiana? Itís the truth! Nearly a year ago, Kenneth and Linda Parkman opened a small, authentic Cajun cafe named Par-K Seafood. Each week, Parkman hand picks his seafood selection from a wholesaler on the Gulf Coast. He then drives back to Evansville to offer Hoosiers a delicious dish with the fresh seafood they crave. Par-Kís menu offers a wide variety of New Orleansí classics such as Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Seafood Gumbo, and Crawfish Etouffee, just to name a few. They also offer a special of the week, such as Baked Catfish fillets. Each plate comes with a slice of French bread toasted and buttered to perfection. Prices are very reasonable, they offer a small, medium, and large dish,†and the staff offers an experience in and of itself.
Over Fall Break, my dad and I ventured to Par-K Seafood after hearing about its fresh and diverse menu. My dad and I are both lovers of Cajun food and spicy food for that matter. When we first walked into the store we were happily greeted by the owner who didnít hesitate to offer us a sample of any dish we contemplated on purchasing. Parkmanís concern with keeping his customers happy and satisfied with their experience at Par-K was phenomenal. Ultimately, my dad and I decided on three small dishes: Red Beans and Rice, Crawfish Etouffee, and Seafood Gumbo, my dadís favorite Cajun dish, each served over rice. Our order ended up only being around $12! Parkman believes that Par-K Seafood is the customerís store. If you have a seafood request, donít hesitate to ask. Parkman will do his best to suite your needs and satisfy your palette.
