My name is Emily and I am a junior strategic communications major at Butler University. I grew up in Evansville, Indiana, a city that continuously offered me an adventure. Growing up, I felt that Evansville didn’t have much to offer, but I discovered that the fun in Evansville is made through the exploration of the small journeys you make. Evansville has countless options to choose from when dining out, but one of my favorites is Donut Bank Bakery and Coffee Shop. The bakery has won a number of local awards, such as best coffee, best donuts, and best bakery in Evansville in 2010. The best part of walking into the bakery is the smell of sweet pastries and freshly brewed coffee that stings my nose with delight. The plethora of donuts leaves me indecisive with an unusual happy frustration because I know I can’t go wrong with any decision. My family and I have a tradition called “Donut Dates.” We pack into the car as a family, drive down Green River Road, and make our way into digging our teeth into the airy, sugary, pastries. Donut Bank offers a donut for all taste buds. A few of my favorites include the Tigertails, swirled with cinnamon sugar and dipped in honey glaze, the Bavarian Custard Filled Bismarks, topped with delicious chocolate frosting, and the original Honey Dipped Glazed Donut. Not only does Donut Bank offer a number of different donuts, but it also sell bagels, muffins, cookies, cakes, and assorted coffee drinks. Check out all of their mouthwatering treats on their menu.
