Like most people, I have a list that I keep (mostly just in my head) of things I want to do with my leisure time. Exploring some of Indiana’s wineries has been on this list for quite some time. But with two little kids at home, activities like that are typically put on the back burner when the weekends roll around.
That’s why I was excited to hear about the Uncork the Uplands event on July 21. While only requesting a babysitter for one night, I can experience the wine of several wineries from the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail as well as dine on delicious food from more than 20 tasting tables. Chef Daniel Orr from FARM Bloomington will give a cooking demonstration. The event is designed for both wine connoisseurs and novices alike.
Tickets are $75 per person (a pretty good deal when you realize all the wine and food included). The event will be held at Huber Winery, 19816 Huber Road, in Starlight, Indiana on Saturday, July 21 from 5-10 p.m. All attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass.
This definitely seems like a unique event worthy of penciling in on your calendar this summer. It’s like 20 date nights all rolled into one yummy package.
