When I lived in Syracuse, Indiana, the Cruisin’ Cuse Rod, Custom, Antique & Collector Car, Motorcycle & Truck Show was one of the biggest events throughout the year. (To be fair, Syracuse is a town of 5,000 people, but still, this is a pretty big event.)
Held in Lakeside Park, this is a chance for every gearhead and car guy (and gal) to show off their handiwork, as thousands of custom car enthusiasts descend on the little lake town in Kosciusko County. This year, it will be held on Saturday, May 19, from 8 am to 3 pm, with the awards for Best Of categories at 2:30, to be followed by the Cruisin’ Cuse Around the Lake, a parade of all the entrants (and fans) around Indiana’s largest natural lake, Lake Wawasee.
Admission is free to the general public, and it’s $10 to enter your car. There are classes for pre-1935 Street Rods, Muscle Cars, Modified Trucks, Corvettes, Harleys, and even Jeep Wranglers, as well as 13 other classifications. Information and registration is available on the website.
Syracuse is in Kosciusko County, in north central Indiana, on SR 13, just north of US 30, on beautiful Lake Wawasee. When you’re there, be sure to stop by Cool Beans Espresso, on your way to Lake Park.
