The Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival will be held in Wakarusa, Indiana (Elkhart County), on Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22, celebrating their maple syrup heritage, including their annual parade, town-favorite maple syrup jelly beans, sugar camp tours, and a variety of pancake and sausage fundraising breakfasts.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the small town atmosphere of Wakarusa, visit different vendors, arts and crafts booths, and food vendors, watch the parades and competitions, including the hotly-contested cross cut saw contest.
Some of the events include wood carving demonstrations, show choirs, Mark’s Ark Animal Show, a magic show, and camel and pony rides, and 3-on-3 basketball tournaments. Friday night will feature Spike & the Bulldogs, a north central Indiana favorite for 50s and 60s music, and the Wakarusa’s Got Talent competition.
Wakarusa is on SR 19 in Elkhart County, just south of Elkhart. You can find more information at the Maple Syrup Festival website.
