Pizza Playoffs Tip Off in Hendricks County

Brackets and pizza. We at the Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau  can’t think of a better combination, which led us to an exciting promotion that begins today for both our residents and visitors.Pizza Playoffs

Our Pizza Playoffs is a bracket-style tournament pitting 16 of our locally owned, non-chain pizza places in a head-to-head competition that will include four rounds of voting.

We have quite a variety of contenders represented including two brothers who own separate restaurants in different Hendricks County communities, two couples who started their pizzeria to give their special-needs children a place to work and a couple of restaurants who have already received regional awards.

After a raucous couple days of voting, we announced our seeding Wednesday. Our first-round matchups include:

We are asking all of our voters to consider trying these pizza shops throughout the duration of the contest to become informed in helping us crown a true Pizza Playoffs champion.

Voting begins Thursday morning on our website, and you should check back often as we start the voting from scratch with each new round. Key dates for our Pizza Playoffs:

  • Round 1 — Voting runs March 8-12
  • Round 2 — Voting runs March 13-19
  • Semi-finals — Voting runs March 20-26
  • Finals — Voting runs March 27-29
  • Winner announced — March 30

Beginning today, I will post capsules letting you get to know each of these locations a little better on our tourism blog, All Access Hendricks County. We also will randomly award some free large pizzas donated by each of our contenders for voters who sign up for our giveaway.

So, enjoy the pizza, brackets and friendly competition brought to you by all of our participating pizzerias and the Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
