March begins a day late this year due to 2012 being a Leap Year, but that just makes the lead-up to March that much more exciting. Here in Indiana, we love basketball and March (and early April) is the most exciting month for a college basketball fan. Indianapolis has hosted the Women’s BIG 10 Basketball Tournament for the past 17 years and this year should be another great tournament. The Women’s tournament begins on Thursday, March 1 and will be decided by Sunday, March 4. The Men’s tournament starts one week later on March 8 and will conclude on March 11.
2012 marks the first time that Nebraska has participated as a BIG 10 member, so 12 teams will be in the tournament this year. Details for how to purchase tickets are below, but even if basketball isn’t your thing, there are some other great events going on over the next 12 days like a 5k race, a career fair and pep rallies before the two final games in each tournament. Find out more details at the Indiana Sports Corporation’s website.
