I can’t remember when I became a regular tea drinker, but at some point along the way I realized that I would just never develop a taste for coffee. Yet anyone spending their winters in Indiana needs somewhere to turn when the weather calls for a warm beverage. Tea became my drink of choice (hot or cold, actually!)
One of my favorite places to sip tea is Tea’s Me Cafe in downtown Indianapolis’ charming Fall Creek Place neighborhood. The atmosphere is similar to any coffee shop, but with a much stronger neighborhood feel. Everyone always seems to know each other and greets each other warmly. And no one is friendlier than the staff, which typically includes the Cafe’s owners.
If you’ve never been into tea or don’t know much about its health benefits, a visit to Tea’s Me is a great place to start. The staff can educate you on the various offerings and styles. I always try to visit around lunch time because I think the food at Tea’s Me is wonderful. All their sandwiches are made with Boar’s Head lunch meat and served with a mixed green organic salad and chips or potato salad.
If you have a tea lover on your Christmas list, Tea’s Me also sells a variety of teas, teaware and gift baskets in their cafe and their website. Tea’s Me also offers a tea service for parties of six or more, which could make a really fun treat for a holiday party.
Do you have a favorite place to enjoy a cup of tea in Indiana? As we head into the winter months, I’m always interested in suggestions for cozy places to warm up!
