One of my favorite Hoosier bands is Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Based in Brown County, Indiana, this fun-loving group brings a ton of life and energy to their unique performances. Their music is part country, part rock, and a whole lot of fun. While you’ll often catch me jamming to them in my car, nothing beats a live performance. Because how often can you say you saw someone play the washboard?
I was lucky enough to catch some of their free performance at Columbus, Indiana’s Ethnic Expo last month. Since then, they’ve been touring around Europe. But they’re heading back to their native Indiana for a holiday show on November 25 at The Vogue in Indianapolis. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8:30 p.m. It’s a smokefree show, and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
In case you need to be further convinced to come out and support a great Indiana band, watch the music video below of their song “Clap Your Hands.” Filmed in an Indiana barn, and utilizing an eclectic cast of Hoosiers, you’ll get a great taste of what this group has to offer. (But really, I had you at washboard, right?)
Wasn’t that fun?! Gather up the family this Thanksgiving holiday and burn some of that turkey and mashed potatoes off by dancing the night away at The Vogue!
