This year marks the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the United States. In observance of the anniversary and in honor of those who protect American lives and freedoms, Bearcreek Farms in Bryant, Indiana will host a Healing Field display from September 2-11.
The Healing Field is a display of U.S. flags meant to recognize the efforts of the country’s military personnel and veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, emergency management and first responder professionals. The field consists of more than 2,000 America flags. Each flag stands 8-feet tall and measures 3 feet by 5 feet and will fly in honor of a specific person. Ribbons will identify who each flag honors.
Organizers say the Healing Field is not meant to make a political statement, but rather to be a patriotic opportunity for reflection and honor. Visitors to the Healing Field will also have the opportunity to view the 9/11 Traveling Memorial will be onsite during the Healing Field Display.
There is no charge to visit the Healing Field. Bearcreek Farms will be open until 7:30pm on from Sunday, September 4 through Tuesday, September 6. Regular operating hours will be in effect for the remainder of the Healing Field display.
