First Fridays in Indianapolis are usually about art galleries and exhibitions. But September 2, First Friday is about food!
Indy’s First Friday Food Truck Festival will be held at the Old National Centre parking lot in downtown Indianapolis on Friday, September 2, 2011, starting at 5:00 pm. Admission is only $5 per person.
Food trucks have been growing in popularity, and are really getting people’s attention. The best way to find out where the trucks will be is to follow them on Twitter and Facebook, when they announce where they’re heading for the day.
Of course, you’ll be able to find exactly who you’re looking for on Friday. In fact, if you visit the Facebook page, you can find out more information.
However, I can tell you that this year’s vendors include Mabel On The Move, Fat Sammies Ciao Wagon, Byrnes Grilled Pizza, Popcycle, Edwards Dashboard Diner, Scoutís Treat Truck, Some Of This Some Of That, NY Slice, Slider Station, Summer Song/Goody Wagons. There will also be some different beers available from MillerCoors, including Leinenkugel Summer Shandy (one of my summer favorites).
And you’ll be able to hear Hotfox, a 5 member band, which won the National Record Store Day Battle of the Bands, Spring 2010.
So if you’re in the mood for some great art, but want something to eat first, be sure to check out the First Friday Food Truck Festival in downtown Indianapolis.
