Dig-IN: A Taste of Indiana [CONTEST CLOSED] (#DigIN11)

By admin on August 22, 2011
Back

Dig Indiana 2011This weekend marks the second annual Dig-IN: A Taste of Indiana event. From its humble beginnings in 2008 to the annual food festival it has now become, Dig-IN is a great way for the entire family to sample some of Indiana’s best food and drinks, learn more about the growing slow food movement and hear knowledgeable food-related speakers talk about food issues.

Dig-IN takes place on August 28th from noon to 5PM at White River State Park (map). Advanced general admission tickets are $20 ($30 at the gate), youth general admission (5-15) is $7 and children under 4-years old get in for free. Advanced tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite here.

Dig-IN, Indianapolis’ gateway to uncovering the true taste of Indiana, celebrates Indiana food and the people that contribute to expanding Hoosier cuisine each and every day. You’ll be guided by Indiana agricultural and culinary experts as they take you a journey through the everyday processes of creating Indiana’s favorite dishes – from field to table top.

Join world-class chefs, leaders in the Indiana food community and fellow Hoosiers in an array of appetizing activities that will have your stomach more than satisfied by the end of the day. Activities include educational discussion panels, cooking demonstrations, urban gardening exhibits, local chef question and answer sessions, wine tasting and beer & food pairing classes.

Need to give your stomach a break? Relax in the shade as you kick back to the tunes of local music bands and acts throughout the park.

For more information on Dig-IN or to purchase tickets in advance, visit the Dig-IN website here.
