It’s nearly time for Fort Wayne’s biggest summer party. July 8 – 16 is the city’s Three Rivers Festival, lasting nine days, and covering the entire city.
From Fort Wayne’s largest garage sale to tours at DeBrand’s Chocolates to Midway rides downtown to a big ol’ reggae party at Headwaters Park, there is something to do every single day, and even if you did nothing but Three Rivers Festival all 9 days, you wouldn’t get it all in.
There’s music at the Festival Plaza including Seefari, the Bob Marley tribute band, Touch, a Motown tribute band, and Big Caddy Daddy.
The International Village will feature food from around the world, including Fort Wayne residents from Burma, Laos, the Phillippines, France, Italy, and Mexico. This two day event will feature traditional foods and cuisine from the participating countries, international dance and music, storytelling, and a chance to learn about different country’s history and traditions, as well as handcrafted items for sale and show. Admission is free to the International Village.
Finally, at the end of the nine days is the Three Rivers Festival Fireworks Spectacular. They call it one of Northeast Indiana’s largest fireworks display, and they’re launching it from the top of One Summit Square. So be sure to be downtown on July 16 for the big display.
Fort Wayne definitely knows how to throw a party, and it’s one they’ve been doing for a long time. For more information, go to the Three Rivers Festival website.
