Some may not know of the Story Inn in Brown County, Indiana, but its quiet, off-the-beaten trail location makes it seem like heaven on earth. Once a year Hoosiers flock to the Story Inn for an event that celebrates an unlikely venture: Indiana wine.
The Indiana Wine Fair at the Story Inn – the second largest wine fair in the state – invites wineries from around Indiana to gather on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in that hidden-away location with wine lovers for a day of tastings, fantastic food and live music. For the price of admission, you can enjoy one-ounce tastings from the state’s best wineries. Don’t worry about the unpredictable Indiana weather. All tastings will be under shelter. If the weather is just too much to bear, the Story Inn Restaurant & Story Still Tavern will be open all day to enjoy.
Tastings begin at 12:30 and will continue through the afternoon until 7:00. Each guest 21 and over will receive a Story Inn wine glass. Be sure to have a plan before you go. While it will provide the wine, the Story Inn politely states it does not provide bail money! Don’t drink and drive!
Parking is free in a field near the Story Inn, or you could make it a day in Brown County! Enjoy some time in the quaint town of Nashville before hopping on a free shuttle to the festival.
Be sure to get your tickets in advance as they are only $15. Tickets the day of the festival are $20 and only $10 for children under 12 and designated drivers. You can purchase tickets and get more information about the Indiana Wine Fair here.
