If you’re into knitting, weaving, or crocheting, I’ve found the event for you. The 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee has paired up with Creation Café to offer a monthly event that allows anyone who is interested, the opportunity to begin knitting a Super Scarf.
It’s called “Sip-N-Knit” and is held every third Wednesday of the month from 6-9 pm just North of Downtown Indianapolis. Avoid dinner at home so you can eat there! Creation Café’s exhaustive menu offers some delicious food from lobster ravioli to a rodeo burger. If you’re really feeling in the mood to celebrate your completion of a Super Scarf, they offer wine specials to all “Sip-N-Knit” participants.
Creation Café is located at 337 W. 11th Street and gives guests a beautiful view overlooking the canal. Street parking is limited so arriving slightly early is advised. Knitters can expect to enjoy a quaint atmosphere where they can meet new people and share their skills. If you don’t have knitting skills, no worries! The Super Bowl Host Committee will have volunteers on hand to teach the basics that will allow you to get started.
Super Scarves is an initiative to collect 8,000 handcrafted scarves that will become part of the volunteer uniform for the Super Bowl next February. To date scarves have been collected from all over the country as well as England and South Africa.
If you aren’t interested in knitting, Creation Café also offers a great coffee shop atmosphere and is open seven days a week.
